...There´s a new blog and a new podcast. I hope you find them interesting. Another beautiful day on the Costa Blanca shows just how lucky visitors can be if they arrive in a quick rain burst. I´ll get the forecast shortly. Meanwhile, in Britain tehy are preparing for an annual census on the state of the nation´s birds. It´s a great idea that really captures the imagination of children. The idea was first introduced by Blue Peter and is apparently now one of the largest, if not the largest, such surveys in the world. Also, David Dimbleby is beginning a new series on UK TV depicting the ages of Britain´s development via its cultural treasures. This looks a particularly good programme. Here in Spain there is a richness of culture which, when united, should strengthen the country. However, regional differences mean that each autonomous region competes fiercely with the others to maintain its language and culture. Hiya ...There´s a new blog and a new podcast. I hope you find them interesting. We spent a lovely day with the little people at Terra Natura yesterday. Because it was raining we spent a lot of time in the indoor exhibition of snakes and spiders. The little people loved these and were delighted to see the little frogs. They didn't seem to care that these tiny creatures are among the most venomous on earth. The animals were quite lively but the Black Panthers were not in the mood for showing off their prowess or anything else. I particularly enjoyed then aviary where the birds fly freely. There has been an addition to this aviary. There are now little monkeys leaping around the place. They are really attractive. Like I said in yesterday's blog it is a lovely place to visit. As it was a cold day there were not that many in the park and we almost had the place to ourselves. Hiya ...There´s a new blog and a new podcast. I hope you find them interesting. It´s a little better today and the little people want to go and see the animals at Terra Natura. This is a very nice nature park cum zoo set in the foothills of the mountains overlooking Benidorm. When you visit the area I would suggest this as a visit for anyone who likes nature and the environment. The stars of the show for me at the moment are two fabulous Black Panthers but I´m sure the little people will enjoy all that is there. There are shows at the reserve but they are limited by the weather and the time of the year. Let´s check the forecast for the Alicante Province where Benidorm is situated. The weather is fabulous and it looks as though high pressure is set to take over at the weekend. This might mean we can expect nice weather but I´ll check this soon.We are being visited this next week by little people and this means we will have to do a scan of the building and remove low lwevel objects that provide immense temptation for little hands. Everything must go to higher pastures and I do mean everything. little hands are everywhere and they have no respect for china and glass. This is just normal inquisitiveness for little people and we all went through this stage. However, we get a bit out of practice.............. Again, the weather is excellent and I decided to take advantage of this better environment to pop up to our town and make a visit or two. Spain is a very busy country early in the day and it is easy to slip into the habit of not getting out early when the weather is colder. However, the mountains are looking good and you just know it´s going to be a good day. The fact that Liverpool beat Tottenham has got nothing to do with this at all. Kuyt earned some of his money last night and one or two seemed to working a little harder. In fact, if we had a really good replacement for when Torres is injured then the team wouldn´t really look to bad. Over at Villa there was a real thriller. Blackburn must have thought they were going to Wembley after the first twenty minutes. They were like demons and possessed a two goal lead very quickly. It´s a beautiful day here in Spain on the Costa Blanca. It´s the sort of feeling you want looking onto the mountain where perfectly clear blue skies give the mountain its wonderful definition where you can see the vegetation line clearly. Hairy Visitor
It´s a rather pleasant start to the day with the clouds beginning to lift from the mountains and their definition looking good. It is not too warm but it is pleasant and a very nice day in prospect. This follows a rather horrendous evening when a trainee tarantula decided to invade our sleeping space. The rather hairy and menacing looking spider decided to park itself on the ceiling and my missus refused to go0 to sleep until I got rid of it. Armed with a glass tumbler and a sheet of paper I climbed precariously onto the sideboard where I perched myself trying to trap our visitor ratrher than kill it.m Egged on by she who must be obeyed I eventually encouraged the hairy monster to step into my glass tumbler. I could then put the `paper on top of the tumbler and despatch our visitor to the garden.
