In Life: "If you have no critics you'll likely have no success."

We had a fabulous day yesterday with brilliant sunshine and clear blue skies. We had a walk on the Poniente side of Benidorm and then went to the port to sit and watch the boats coming in and out. One tourist boat was disembarking some 150 people who had enjoyed a nice trip to Calpe and the place was buzzing. There seems to be a large number of Spanish visitors enjoying this beautiful weather and the Poniente side tends to be more Spanish. The English walk the Levante beach in good numbers but even Levante seems very Spanish at the moment. It's a lovely time of the year with a lot more tranquillity about the place. We've another sunny day today so let's get the forecast to see how long it will last......

On the local scene-and this is not a joke-a guy called Mustapha rode his bike on a high wire to the top of Europe's highest hotel, the Bali, last Saturday. My friend, Mary, sent me a text in to tell me about the event and I thought, at firswt, it was a wind up. I did put a cautious word out but half expected to find it was a joke. Later in the afternoon, I watched the event on a national Spanish TV station and the guy was amazing. He is to bicycles what Eval Knievel is to motor bikes. Mary, I do apologise for not taking the firswt text seriously enough but none of the papers had really reported this event.

Scouse vasectomy
After having their 11th child, a Liverpool couple decided that was enough, as the social wouldn't buy them a bigger bed and they weren't strong enough to nick one.
The husband went to his doctor and told him that he and his wife didn't want to have any more children.
The doctor told him there was a procedure called a vasectomy that would fix the problem but it was expensive.
A less costly alternative was to go home, get a firework, light it, put it in a beer can, then hold the can up to his ear and count to 10.
The Scouser said to the doctor, 'I may not be the smartest guy in the world, but I don't see how putting a firework in a beer can next to my ear is going to help me.'
'Trust me, it will do the job', said the doctor.
So the man went home, lit a banger and put it in a beer can. He held the can up to his ear and began to count: '1, 2, 3, 4, 5,' at which point he paused, placed the beer can between his legs so he could continue counting on his other hand.
This procedure also works in Middlesbrough, Hull , parts of Bradford and anywhere in Wales
