If you hate a person, you hate something in him that is part of yourself. What isn't part of ourselves doesn't disturb us . - Hermann Hesse, 1877-1962 Tesco is using Spain as the hub of its European distribution effort. It's just posted massive profits yet again so could this have a knock on effect for a beleagred economy here in Spain. The interesting part of the TV interview with Tesco's chief executive was the intricate nature of their distribution chain. Flowers which should be coming from Kenya might be replaced by other plants ferried in from Europe. The ramifications of this Icelandic spew spread far and wide with hundreds and thousands of different travelling problems. Who's to say this volcano will stop spewing its eruption across Europe in a hurry? This could go on for weeks and the ironical part of it all is that is apparently safe to fly into Reykjavík! ...There´s a new blog and a new podcast. I hope you find them interesting. Apparently, the eruption of the Icelandic volcano was not officially the largest ever but it was apparently like a champagne cork exploding with particles that could have endangered the engines of aeroplanes. This, of course, had led to England becoming a no-fly zone for the first time in history. Personally, I would always prefer safety although apparently not everyone agrees! People on news bulletins this morning were querying the decisions taken to ground all planes. Did they not see what the rest of us saw? The Great Debate ITV News assembled 20 undecided voters from the key marginals of Bolton NE and Bolton W. The voters watched the debate from a location in Bolton, and participated in a worm poll as they watched the debate. They each had a handset on which they registered approval/disapproval or neutral feelings constantly thr

...There´s a new blog and a new podcast. I hope you find them interesting. Some see things as they are and say "Why?" I dream of things that never were and say "Why not?" RFK's reworking of George Bernard Shaw. " The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we hit it ." - Michelangelo There's a programme on BBC TV called Animal 24/7 and it shows the work of the RSPCA in combating animal abuse. It really is hard to imagine just how some people find their living conditions acceptable. Time and again there's video footage of someone living in squalor with their pets. Needless to say, the minute the suggestion is made that their abode is unclean hands are held up in horror. How dirty must a place get before these people realise they're living in squalor. What is even more unimaginable is when excrement from their pets decorates the room. What this programme has shown s
