1975, The Carpenters went to No.1 on the US singles chart with their version of The Marveletts 1961 hit ‘Please Mr. Postman’

Sunday was quite bright and cheerful as I headed off to Benidorm for the Sunday broadcast. I put the first out on my own and then Neil Colbourne comes in to join me for the next couple of hours.

We still have a few technical difficulties to overcome but we're getting there. We broadcast from the Marina Hotel where lots of Spanish tourists mill around peering in to the studios as we are broadcasting. Later on we go and have a coffee at a local bar.

When I got home I had a lovely dinner and then promptly fell asleep in front of the TV watching the magnificent three Cunard Queens sailing up the River Mersey. It was particularly nice to see as we'd seen the Queen Mary moored in Sydney when we were there a few years ago.

Just how odd is this snow storm on the Eastern borders of the USA. As a child we had many winters with very heavy snow storms and the memories of our first years in Cornwall were of Bodmin Moor and heavy snowfalls. In fact, I can remember us sitting in bed with our hats and gloves on in 1982. We had old window frames that had needed replacing and we couldn't afford to have them fixed. We thought it was funny sitting up in bed with frosted breath!

Vladimir Putin’s SHORTEST SPEECH EVER

This is one time our elected leaders should pay attention to the advice of Vladimir Putin.
How scary is that?

On August 04, 2013, Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, addressed the Duma  (Russian Parliament), and gave a speech about the tensions with minorities in Russia :

“In Russia live like Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia , to work and eat in Russia , should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia Law, and live the life of Muslim’s then we advise them to go to those places where that’s the state law.

Russia does not need Muslim minorities. Minorities need Russia , and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell ‘discrimination’.

We will not tolerate disrespect of our Russian culture .

We had better learn from the suicides of America , England , Holland and France , if we are to survive as a nation.

The Muslims are taking over those countries but they will not take over Russia. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways.

Sharia Law and Muslims, when this honourable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the Russian national interest first, observing that the Muslims Minorities are not Russians.

The politicians in the Duma gave Putin a five minute standing ovation.

About Heart Attacks

There are other symptoms of an heart attack besides the pain on the left arm. One must also be aware of an intense pain on the chin, as well as nausea and lots of sweating,. However, these symptoms may also occur less frequently. Note: There may be NO pain in the chest during aheart attack

The majority of people (about 60%) who had a heart attack during their sleep, did not wake up.  However, if it occurs, the chest pain may wake you up from your deep sleep.
If that happens, immediately dissolve two aspirins in your mouth and swallow them with a bit of water. Afterwards:  CALL 911 – say “heart attack!” – say that you have taken 2 aspirins.- phone a neighbour or a family member who lives  very close by- take a seat on a chair or sofa near the front door,  and wait for their arrival and . . . Do not lie down
A Cardiologist has stated that, if each person, after receiving this e-mail, sends it to 10 people, probably one life can be saved!

François , a middle-aged French tourist on his first visit to Orlando , Florida , finds the red light district and enters a large brothel.

The madam asks him to be seated and sends over a young lady to entertain him. They sit and talk, frolic a little, giggle a bit, drink a bit, and she sits on his lap. He whispers in her ear and she gasps and runs away!

Seeing this, the madam sends over a more experienced lady to entertain the gentleman.
They sit and talk, frolic a little, giggle a bit, drink a bit, and she sits on his lap. He whispers in her ear, and she too screams, “No!” and walks quickly away.

The madam is surprised that this ordinary looking man has asked for something so outrageous that her two girls will have nothing to dowith him. She decides that only her most experienced lady, Lola, will do. Lola has never said no, and it’s not likely anything would surprise her.So the madam sends her over to François. They sit and talk, frolic a little, giggle a bit, drink a bit, and she sits on his lap. He whispers in her ear and she screams, “NO WAY, BUDDY!” and smacks him as hard as she can and leaves.

Madam is by now absolutely intrigued, having seen nothing like this in all her years of operating a brothel. She hasn’t done the bedroom work herself for a long time, but she’s sure she has said yes to everything a man could possibly ask for. She just has to find out what this man wants that has made her girls so angry. Besides she sees a chance to teach her employees a lesson.

So she goes over to François and says that she’s the best in the house and is available. She sits and talks with him. They frolic, giggle, drink and then she sits in his lap.
François leans forwards and whispers in her ear,  Can I pay in Euros?”

A guy was getting ready to tee off on the first hole when a second golfer approached and asked if he could join him. The first said that he usually played alone, but agreed to the twosome.

They were even after the first few holes.  The second guy said, “We’re about evenly matched, how about playing for five bucks a hole?” The first guy said that he wasn’t much for betting, but agreed to the terms.

The second guy won the remaining sixteen holes with ease.

As they were walking off number eighteen, the second guy was busy counting his $80.00.  He confessed that he was the pro at a neighboring course and liked to pick on suckers. The first fellow revealed that he was the Parish Priest.

The pro was flustered and apologetic, offering to return the money. The Priest said, “You won fair and square and I was foolish to bet with you. You keep your winnings.”

The pro said, “Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?”

The Priest said, “Well, you could come to Mass on Sunday and make a donation. And, if you want to bring your mother and father along, I’ll marry them.
