“You see things; and you say, ‘Why?’ But I dream things that never were; and I say, ‘Why not?’”

George Bernard Shaw

- Today's Podcast is a great journey with the story of the day's music down the tunnel of time to light up your ears.....and there are some very interesting stories about the music of the day.....1963, UK music weekly The NME reported that The Beatles could score their first US hit with 'From Me To You' as the single was 'bubbling under' on the charts at No.116

If you'd lived on Merseyside you'd have felt the buzz and it was an exciting time. Gerry and the Pacemakers were possibly the most popular of the groups because the Beatles had travelled but it was great going to the Cavern and the Iron Door to see the groups arriving and getting their gear through the fans and onto the stage. Very often other groups would be passing on the way to their gigs and they would make sure the fans knew who they were.

My first brush with the groups was with a group called the Lynx. Yes. The name was taken from the toilet cistern and was probably a pretty appropriate name as we weren't the best. I had a harmonica solo which we threw in at the relevant times to take up twenty minutes!

However, I saw the discos coming and I got myself a Bedford Van to take me round under the pseudonym of Duke Bok's Mobile Disco. I did put myself about and I had regular gigs all around Merseyside and down to Wales and up to Southport.....but all this is for my book!

Today, I've had my swim and it is a little fresher when the sun is not about. I had a quick lesson to deliver and how would you explain that rough is pronounced 'ruff' -English is certainly a bizarre language.

Watching the Indignados on the Spanish TV makes me wonder about the money situation. Surely most of it is digital and, therefore, not really seen. The unseen has become the obscene and I think there is a lot of kidology involved in what we are being told. Just as one problem seems to have been solved viz the American situation up flares Italy, hitherto a relatively strong economy, with Spain and Portugal back in the frame. If people can sit at their computers and hack into the phones then I'm sure it is easy to hack into the stock markets and confuse the figures. This is where I would now be looking. If Nick Gleason managed to fool everyone then there is the chance of complicity somewhere with or without the Forex game being played at homes everywhere in the world.

Remember I told you to watch out for Piers Morgan. I think he's a slippery fellow and I wouldn't be surprised if he has a hotline to Murdoch. I repeat. Watch this space.

HEALTH MESSAGE:

1. If walking/cycling is good for your health, the postman would be immortal.
2. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water and is fat.
3. A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years.
4. A tortoise doesn't run, does nothing ...yet lives for 450 years.

A glass of wine

Description:
To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine..
And those who don't and are always
Seen with a bottle of water in their hand.

As Ben Franklin said:
In wine there is wisdom,
In beer there is freedom,
In water there is bacteria.

In a number of carefully controlled trials,
Scientists have demonstrated that if we drink
1 litre of water each day,
At the end of the year we would have absorbed
More than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. Coli) - bacteria
Found in feces.
In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop.

However,
We do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer
(or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor)
Because alcohol has to go through a purification process
Of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

Remember:
Water = Poop,
Wine = Health
Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid,
Than to drink water and be full of Poo..
