Saint Valentine

...There´s a new blog and a new podcast. I hope you find them interesting.

"Life is one percent what happens to you, and ninety-nine
percent how you respond to it.
" ~Chuck Swindoll

I´m just back from my Spanish lesson but I didn´t get much out of today´s class. I really find it difficult to just sit and watch a video as I know I need more conversation and more explanation. However, something is always better than nothing. The film was about East Germany and when it had finished I learnt more by listening to an East German lady who was discussing the accuracy of the film with the teacher. However, the weather is better and when I looked at the picture for the whole of Spain I think we are extremely lucky. I´ll get the forecast for Alicante province in due course.

Thought for Valentine´s Day
The couple in love values absolute trustworthiness and integrity in their relationship with each other.

If you cannot trust the one you love, then it is not true love! Trust us on that. The most successful loving relationships report that they trust their mate unequivocally and without hesitation. To violate that trust is to undermine and, ultimately destroy, the relationship with the one you say you love.

Now here´s an article written in heaven for Saint Valentine´s Day........

Study finds sex reduces heart risk

If you want to gobble down aspirin because of some imaginary heart benefit, be my guest. But if you really want to aid your ticker, spend more time in bed instead -- and I don't mean sleeping.

Go ahead...give that mattress a workout -- because a new study shows why sex is the only form of steady exercise I endorse. Men who do the deed at least twice a week have half the risk of heart disease compared to those poor lonely souls who do it once a month or less.

And if you think the men who do it more often have a lower risk because they're healthier to begin with, then you're as innocent as a virgin. The researchers adjusted for risk factors like age, weight and blood pressure...and found that plenty of sex still made all the difference in the world.

Not exactly a stunner. It doesn't take a genius with a research grant to figure out that sex is more than just a sweaty diversion. It's mankind's oldest wonder drug, and men and women alike can share the benefits.

Steady sex can reduce stress, fight pain and energize the immune system, making the body more capable of fighting cold and flu. Forget flu shots, the best "injection" takes place in the bedroom!

Side effects: happiness and physical exhaustion.

Just don't supplement your sex with risky behavior -- and by that I don't just mean hookers. Avoid the sex drugs being pimped by Big Pharma -- you can get better results from good health, proper nutrition...and lots of practice.

So if you're married and healthy, no excuses. Stop reading and get busy -- your life depends on it. SOURCE

This really is a horrible story........

An Argentine, owner of a restaurant in Canarias Islands, was brutally attacked by a group of six Marines from the Welsh guards who tried to steal a bottle of wine.

Several families were quietly dining at La Vaca Loca Argentinian restaurant when two of the soldiers came in asking directions to a night club.

As they went to leave, they tried to take a bottle of wine and when the owner came out from behind the bar to prevent them from doing so, they allegedly began to attack him

Witnesses told how families with children cowered under tables as chairs and bottles flew over their heads. Several people were treated in hospital after being punched as they went to the aid of the restaurant owner.

One man said: “I’ve never seen such violence. Source

It's official: The swine flu "pandemic" is now an embarrassing fiasco.
And let the blaming begin!

You know things have really broken down when World Health Organization officials have to publicly deny that drug companies influenced WHO's reaction to the H1N1 virus.

No doubt, WHO officials have a tough job. If they overreact to an epidemic (as they did with H1N1), they look like drug company stooges. But if they under react and millions die on their watch, they look like inept stooges. So they have to get it exactly right or they lose, and lose big.

Last month, WHO began an internal review of the organization's handling of H1N1. A WHO official told Reuters, "We will consider whether we can define things better."

Good call! Because defining--or rather "redefining"--is what got them into this mess.

As I mentioned about four months ago, WHO actually changed the definition of "pandemic" in May of 2009. Under the old definition, "enormous numbers of deaths" were required. The new definition dropped that requirement.

And the media LOVED it! News anchors immediately started calling H1N1 a pandemic and speculated wildly about how many millions might die. The result: widespread fear--the perfect atmosphere for selling TONS of vaccines.

Maybe drug companies really didn't influence the WHO H1N1 policy. But what we do know for sure is that the definition change was a great big beautiful gift to those companies.

Too bad Reuters missed that one little detail in their report.Source
